Your blessings have not been forgotten even during a storm

Your blessings have not been forgotten even during a storm

As we go thru difficult seasons, its hard to see the blessings that God has for us now and in the future. His blessings NEVER stop. Every tear that has shed, every cry we have cried and every hurt that has been caused, doesn’t stop our Heavenly Father from blessing us.

If you can still stand, sit, walk, taste, run, sing, see, shout, vent, talk, laugh, fall, stumble, dance, shake, moan, groan, growl, complain, blink, stink, weep, and whatever else these wonderful bodies can do YOU. ARE. BLESSED!!

God hasn’t forgotten you during these uncertain times and He won’t forget about you when we come out of it!! Seasons will come and go. Tears will dry up and fall. Pain will hurt and heal but one thing that still remains is just how much God loves you and wants to give you the desires of your heart.

Trust that whatever season you may be in right now that seems to be taking forever, please know friends, your blessings are on the way! You will look back at this troubled season and brush it off. Nothing will stop your blessings from coming to you. Thank him for the blessings you have now and the wonderful ones yet to come πŸ’š

God has created you to be exactly who you are!

God has created you to be exactly who you are!

As I started walking more with God, I felt the unavoidable tug of removing certain things from my life. The music I used to listen to, I would get the edited version and for some, I had to stop listening to altogether.

Next came the movies I watched. I love movies but some movies weren’t appropriate anymore. I have an app that I check before any movie that I’m unsure about and check the parental guide. Yes, the parental guide! If the content was too much, no matter if my favorite actor was in it, I had to pass!

Well, I’m here to say that I’m not here to please friends OR family members. I’m not here to follow the in-crowd or settle for less because someone else thinks I should. Our walk with Christ is not the same and we will be convicted about different things at different times. Don’t allow others from getting in the way of who Christ is forming you to be.

Sometimes it feels like I’m walking alone in my own perspectives but as long as I know God is leading me, everything will be alright πŸ’š

Chasing your dreams and fulfilling your destiny

Chasing your dreams and fulfilling your destiny

There was a time I was so stagnant in my life but my dreams kept rolling around in my heart. How was I going to make my dream a reality? Was it just going to come? Was it going to knock me over the head?

It wasn’t until I heard a message about stepping out on faith. Meeting God halfway. It wasn’t about me sitting in my room waiting for things to change. Or randomly meeting someone in the grocery store whisking me away.

We have to do the work!! Our dreams and desires were given to us to be fulfilled. Not just imagined or wished.

I was afraid to chase my dreams because I wondered what would happen if I failed? What if I heard God wrong? Maybe I wouldn’t be good enough? I used my lack of experience or training to make me think I wasn’t worthy but let me tell you, what God has placed in you, your fears or doubts can’t STOP IT!!

Whatever your dream is, start chasing it NOW! Don’t let another day go by where you haven’t put your dream in motion. Maybe it’s writing your first paragraph, doodling your first illustration or using your phone to start snapping pictures outside. Start small and dream big!

Dreams are meant to be fulfilled not wasted πŸ’š

Joy

Joy

What a wonderful day it is! I woke up for another opportunity as well as you if you’re reading this!

I know a lot has been going on and things don’t feel or seem nice but there is always something to find joy in.

When I’m out for a walk, I love to see squirrels run up and down the trees and having so much fun ( I hope they’re having fun). It warms my heart and makes me laugh. I find their behavior amusing. A. Squirrel.

Joy doesn’t have to be some big announcement or life changing moment. I mean, it is welcomed and much appreciated but sometimes it best to take a moment and find joy in the little things.

I encourage you today to find that one thing that brings you joy. Maybe it’s taking that first sip of coffee, taking a walk, or watching birds at the park. Whatever it may be, find your joy again πŸ’š

The Door

The Door

I’ve been attending church since I was 13 years old and I can tell you for many years I didn’t understand or know what Christianity was about. I went to church and went home and that was it. No studying. Didn’t open my bible besides Sunday. I was bored most of the time in church. Everything felt like an obligation. There was no relationship involved.

It was not until after my divorce, that I really started to read and study the bible. I had to learn to build a relationship with Jesus on my own. It wasn’t about what others told me or what my family believed. I had to know Him for myself. My salvation isn’t based on how I was raised or if I’m a good person. Salvation begins with accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior and knowing that he died for our sins. It’s a free gift! A gift he died and rose for.

The funny thing is, it’s more that just believing in Jesus. For so long, I felt that as long as I believed, that would be enough but if that was the case, the enemy would be in Heaven. You see, when we accept Jesus, we have to build that relationship with Him. We have to walk through the door. He can only show us the door, we have to be willing to walk through it. When he told the disciples to pick up the cross and follow him, it was a way of saying, we have to die to self. We can’t do the things we used to do. When you follow Jesus, we are taking the long route, not the shortcut. It’s the narrow door over the common, broad door.

Following Jesus, isn’t going to be easy in a fallen world. We are going to have challenges, trials, suffering, pain, sorrow and much more but I can assure you that choosing to walk through His door will always be better than any door this world has to offer!

Rear View Mirror

Rear View Mirror

What a glorious Tuesday it is my friends! It’s another day to move forward in your future. The pains, trials, heartaches, failures, disappointments and tears of yesterday are in your past.

Don’t let today and every day after prohibit you from moving forward. When you’re driving, we are taught to GLANCE in the rear view mirror, not STARE. If you glance too long, you won’t see what’s ahead of you.

Learn from your past and move on. There’s nothing to dwell on. You have been given another opportunity; don’t waste it πŸ’š

Don’t Measure Your Success By Others

Don’t Measure Your Success By Others

We all have something we’re destined to do but for some reason we believe we’re not included. We think success is for others but not us.

Let me tell you friend, success is for everyone but it starts when you believe you can be. God can show you the door but you have to be willing to walk through it.

Starting something new is scary. You don’t know how it will turn out but that’s okay. You have to learn to take RISKS. You have to step out on faith and believe in YOURSELF.

Success isn’t defined by how much money you make or what car you’re able to buy. Success is knowing who you are and the love  you give to others. Success is being the best you can be everyday when the weight is heavy on your shoulders. Success is when you finish  college in your middle age or when you get all of your kids prepared for their future. Success  is when someone tells you you can’t but you do it anyway.

Success comes in various ways but it starts with believing in yourself. Today my friends, BELIEVE. IN. YOU. and all the great things you can do πŸ’š

Stop hiding who you are by wearing a mask

Stop hiding who you are by wearing a mask

Sometimes we wear masks trying to be whatever everyone wants us to be instead of loving who we are. We don’t need to pretend or change ourselves to please someone else.

We are all created differently with different interests or passions. I remember when I was in my teens and I hid the fact that I loved N’sync and Britney Spears. My so-called friends didn’t like their music and it made me embarrassed. So, I put on a mask hiding the ‘pop’ side of myself.

It wasn’t until I realized that God made me just the way I am and it doesn’t matter the color of your skin, you can like whatever you want. Don’t let race, age, or your background cause you to wear a mask. Embrace your uniqueness, whatever that is. If someone doesn’t like you for who you are, then they weren’t meant to be apart of your journey anyway πŸ’š

My Heart

My Heart

Holiday season is here! Christmas trees are going up, lights are being put on the house and the ugly sweaters are coming out of the bins.

It’s a wonderful time of festivities and joy. This year, unfortunately, is going to look a bit different as we celebrate within our own households but there is one thing that remains the same. Jesus.

His love doesn’t change because of a virus, a lockdown, a crazy election, sold out bath tissue, overcharged hand sanitizer or even the ever stylish face masks!

Jesus’ love grows more and more for those who love Him.Β  Throughout this holiday season, remember to keep what Christmas really means. The birth of our Savior. The first love of our hearts. The true love that never ends. The only love that matters.

My heart belongs to Him in 2020 and beyond πŸ’š

Future

Future

A lot of us have a story but that shouldn’t determine where we go in this life. Whatever your past failures or successes were, they’re exactly where they’re supposed to be; in the past.

Learn to be content where you are now and strive to be better.

Look ahead to all the greatness that can be achieved.

When you believe in yourself, you will be able to smile at adversity and focus on your future. Don’t let setbacksΒ stop you from realizing your dreams.

Your opportunity is just around the corner πŸ’š
